A story of invention. Driven by frustration with his old vacuum and a passion for problem-solving, James Dyson invented the first bagless vacuum. No big companies wanted to buy his invention – selling vacuum bags was far too profitable. So James decided to set up his own company.
Dyson Canada opened in 2006 with 10 employees and two vacuum cleaner models. Within a few months, it had secured the number one market share. They now sell vacuums, hair dryers, purifiers and humidifiers, fans and heaters, lighting and hand dryers coast to coast. They think big, pushing into uncharted territory, so they maintain their market-leading position.
Based here at The Well, Dyson Canada’s HQ is surrounded by some of Canada’s most inspiring urban engineering. The industrial studio space has an open-plan design, big windows and plenty of fresh air. It helps create an environment where they can bring Dyson technology to people across Canada.
